Farah Khan (IFTCA Member): The Pioneer of Grand Spectacle.
Farah Khan revolutionized Bollywood choreography with her larger-than-life dance sequences and a knack for blending humor with intricate steps. Known for choreographing some of the biggest hits in Bollywood, she combines storytelling with dance to create visually spectacular moments. Her ability to balance simplicity with grandeur has made her one of the most respected names in the industry. Farah Khan’s iconic song Pehla Nasha was filmed using a slow-motion technique (high-speed filming) combined with precise lip-syncing, a technical innovation that no one else had conceived prior to her conceptualization and execution. She has earned significant acclaim for her work, including one National Award in 2003 and seven Filmfare Awards to date, placing her second on the list of most Filmfare Awards won by an individual in her field.
Ahmed Khan (IFTCA Member): The Maestro of Stylish Moves.
He is Known for his stylish, high-energy choreography, Ahmed Khan has given Bollywood some of its most memorable dance numbers. Whether it’s foot-tapping beats or intense performances, he brings a modern flair to traditional Bollywood rhythms. His work is known for its sleek execution and seamless synchronization, making him a favorite among directors and actors alike.
Vaibhavi Merchant (IFTCA Member): The Keeper of Tradition.
Vaibhavi Merchant is celebrated for her ability to blend classical Indian dance with contemporary styles, creating beautifully choreographed numbers that evoke both elegance and emotion. From the grandeur of historical films to modern-day love stories, her work reflects depth, precision, and artistic mastery. Vaibhavi Merchant received the National Award for “Dholi Taro Dhol Baaje,” which she shared with two other individuals, leading to her rise to fame in Bollywood.
Shiamak Davar (IFTCA Member): The Guru of Contemporary Bollywood Dance.
A pioneer in introducing modern and western dance forms to Bollywood, Shiamak Davar is credited with revolutionizing the way dance is perceived in Indian cinema. Known for his clean, graceful movements and larger-than-life stage productions, he has choreographed iconic numbers blending jazz, contemporary, and Indian styles.
